Cleveland Indians -- Optioned pitchers Tim Drew, Alex Herrera, Roy Smith and Martin Vargas to Buffalo of the International League (AAA); optioned catcher Victor Martinez to Akron of the Eastern League (AA); sent pitchers Jeff D'Amico and Heath Murray, infielders Anthony Medrano and Earl Snyder
and outfielders Todd Dunwoody and Donzell McDonald to their minor league complex.

Too bad about Drew and Snyder. I was hoping both would stick.

I kept hearing Medrano's name this spring, it seems like he was either scoring or at least getting some timely hits.

What is the forums take on him both offensively and defensively, speed wise, and what is his real age?

I think according to the roster I looked at, Medrano is in his late 20s...so kind of old to be a "prospect".
Drew I knew wouldn't stick, especially since Drese is kicking ass. Snyder I was hopeful, but I think the idea is to give him steady at bats in AAA rather then have him ride the bench with the 4 million dollar man at the ML level.

Herrera and Vargas surprised me though. I think it is a clear indicator that Wohlers and Riggan both make the roster, and we are going with only one lefty instead of two because Radinsky doesn't have it.
